Note to Players

Participants of the event please note the following rules and regulations:

  1. Participants should read the guidelines and regulations carefully before the Race.
  2. Participants are advised to solicit medical advice from medical practitioner prior to taking part in the Race. Participants should ensure that they are physically fit for participating in the Race. Participants are also advised to write down their medical history and emergency contact at the back of the Bib.
  3. Public Liability Insurance and Personal Accident Insurance are covered by the Organizer. Participants are advised to sign up for their own personal or other insurance policies separately, if deemed necessary.
  4. Check and ensure that the Timing Chip and Bib are included in the Race Pack on receipt of the Race Pack.
  5. Participants should arrive at the venue (i.e. Public Parking area behind Central General Post Office) 45 minutes before the respective start time. The Organizer reserves the right to alter arrangements and/or schedule of the Race when necessary.
  6. Water Station and Baggage Storage Counter are available at the venue.
  7. Participants who require baggage storage service should ensure their baggage being taken care of before the start time of the race. Please do NOT put valuable belongings in the baggage. The Organizer will not be responsible for any loss or missing of personal belongings.
  8. Participants are required to display the Bib properly so as to be easily seen throughout the race. Failing to do so may risk being disqualified.
  9. If the recording of official result of a participant could not be achieved due to the participant’s improper display or placement of the Bib and/or the Timing Chip, any other results using unofficial methods will not be recognized.
  10. Timing Chip and/or Bib are non-transferable. Violation may lead to disqualification and cancellation of the results achieved.
  11. Participants should redeem their personal belongings and baggage from the Baggage Storage Counter as soon as possible after completing the Race, the baggage storage counter will be closed at 11:15 am.
  12. Only results recorded by Official Time will be recognized. Results taken by other unofficial devices will not be considered.
  13. Participants should strictly follow the Organizer’s instructions. Any misbehaviour or violation of instructions on the part of a participant that affects the smooth conduct of the Race may lead to disqualification.
  14. Participants who wish to review or appeal to the result must submit their request to the Organizer within 15 minutes immediately following the result announcement. Late requests will not be entertained.
  15. If there is any dispute in the result of the Race, the decision of the Organizer shall be final.
  16. The Organizer reserves all rights to amend and/or interpret the above Race Rules. Any change with respect to these rules will be announced on the Official Event Website. 

Adverse Weather Arrangement

  1. If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is issued at any time from 12:00 noon of the day before the Race Day, the Race will be cancelled.
  2. If Black RainStorm Signal is issued at any time from 0:00 midnight prior to the Race Day, the Race will be cancelled.
  3. If Red Rainstorm Signal, Thunderstorm Warning or Typhoon Signal No.3 is issued at any time from 6:00 am on the Race day, the race will be continued unless further notice.
  4. If any of the above Inclement Weather/Condition Warnings is issued after the commencement of the Race, the Organizer reserves the right to adjust the course distance, alter any arrangement, or call off the race.
  5. Please check at 6:00 am on the Race Day through the Official Event Website www.charitychallengerace.com for possible cancellation of the Race under adverse weather conditions.

General Rules and Regulations (For all Categories)

  1. All participants must stay inside the boundaries and markings set by Race Officials and overcome all obstacles in sequence.
  2. All participants are required to maintain forward progress on all obstacles (e.g. sitting on top of the obstacles is not permitted).
  3. Participants shall consider their own strength when completing the course and obstacles.
  4. Participants must keep the Course clean and redeem all personal items/belongings they brought in.
  5. Damaging any public facilities on the Course is strictly prohibited.
  6. To ensure the safety of all participants, participants must follow the instructions of the Race Officials and Course Marshals throughout the Race, including requests to vacate certain sections of the checkpoint area. Participants who miss any cut-off time of the checkpoint must withdraw from the Race.
  7. Participants should behave and comply with all instructions from Race Officials. If any participant is found any misbehave or violation of instructions that might affect the competition, he/she may be subject to the time penalty zone or disqualified from the Race.
  8. Wearing glasses (with glasses rope) are allowed but are not encouraged due to safety reasons.
  9. Apart from shoes, gloves or protective gear (i.e. elbow pads or knee pads), other clothing/personal equipment used as assisting tools in completing the Race is not allowed.
  10. Alcohol, weapons, and other dangerous objects are not allowed on the Course.
  11. The Water Station is reserved for the exclusive use by participants only.
  12. The Organizer shall reserve the right to alter the course arrangement, modify current obstacles or rules when deemed necessary.
  13. Participant who would like to withdraw from the Race must inform the Race Officials and sign the withdrawal form at the nearest checkpoint (unless the participant is being attended by first-aid crew).
  14. Participants feeling unwell or having any physical problems during the Race are advised to approach Race Officials and seek assistance at the First-aided Station.
  15. The Organizer shall reserve the right to make changes to the event rules and requirements, route and/or other arrangements when deemed necessary.
